FAIRBANKS -- Alaska State Troopers have called off the search for a dipnetter who
fell into the Copper River and is presumed to have drowned.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports Lance Jorgensen was fishing from shore Thursday
afternoon at Wood Canyon when he slipped and was pulled under water by the current.
The 28-year-old carpenter from North Pole was not wearing a life jacket.
Several boats and a helicopter searched for him Thursday unsuccessfully.
